It has been precisely twenty years today since the first low-floor city bus of Solaris left the factory in Bolechowo near Poznań. Back then the company was made up by barely 36 people; now the headcount has risen to 2500. 56 vehicles rolled out of the factory in the first year of operation; today their number has reached 14,000. Within two decades Solaris has turned into a large, mature enterprise that has contributed a lot to the history of the Polish automotive industry. European bus manufacturers Irizar, Solaris, VDL and Volvo have agreed to ensure the interoperability of electric buses with charging infrastructure provided by ABB, Heliox and Siemens.
