We advised Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) on their guarantee of the issue of 93 billion yen worth of aid bonds for Ukraine (Samurai Bonds) issued by BGK bank.

The issue was targeted at Japan’s financial institutions and the funds to be raised will be earmarked for the BGK Aid Fund for Ukraine UA.

This is a project of particular significance due not only to its international dimension, the value of the issue, and the prestige and prominence of the financial institutions involved, but, above all, its purpose, which is to finance the Ukraine Aid Fund as announced at the 2023 G7 Summit in #Hiroshima

Jacek Kozikowski, PhD and Pawel Mardas advised on the issue and security documentation, as well as the documentation relating to JBIC's obligations as guarantor of the issue.
