In the wake of Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the European Union imposed restrictions on businesses in their trade relations with Russia and Belarus. The measures, which were meant to be a temporary solution, have become an integral part of the national legal system and a challenge to the market players involved in these regions.

The problem is the multitude of the sanctions regulations, which are constantly changing. The subject matter of the sanctions, which have been imposed on further categories of goods and services, is also gradually expanding. This is why regular monitoring of the legal situation and the day-to-day activities of businesses has become so important.

Regarding to the dynamic regulatory changes and the increasing need for Polish organizations to have an effective compliance management system, international sanctions will be the topic of the meeting "International sanctions and business on the Polish market: risks and trends" organized by DZP law firm in cooperation with the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Poland, the Polish-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the Polish-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.

During the meeting, our experts from the Regulatory Affairs, Legislation and Compliance Practice – Gniewomir Wycichowski-Kuchta and Wiktoria Kuczkowska will analyze what international sanctions are, their types, and the applicable sanctioning regimes. They will also address the issue of penalties for sanctions violations under current legislation and answer questions on how to verify business partners and what to do to reduce the risk of sanctions violations.

The meeting will be held on 14 May 2024, 13:00-16:00 in a hybrid format and will be conducted in English. Participation in the event is free of charge.
