Logistics as the key to business growth in the Czech Republic

Expert: Jiri Chladek, Managing Director of Rohlig SUUS Logistics in Czech Republic
The Czech Republic has been attractive to investors for a long time – it is located in the middle of Europe, has a quality infrastructure, a stable economy and services that support business. According to CzechInvest, the value of investment projects in 2024 reached almost 60 billion CZK (about 2.39 billion EUR), which is the highest figure since 2017. Interest is growing across various sectors – from manufacturing to new technologies. Logistics also plays a significant role, allowing companies to build up inventory of components for production or finished goods as well as to quickly and reliably deliver goods to various markets, among others.
Thanks to its location, the Czech Republic is a natural transport gateway between Western, Eastern and Northern Europe. Modern warehouses, a dense network of motorways and railways, as well as stable air transport, enable rapid connections with the outside world. In recent years, the Czech Republic has also responded to market changes – for example, to the growing logistics demand for e-commerce or the technology industry.
Rohlig SUUS Logistics in the Czech Republic: We grow together with our clients
Our company has been operating in the Czech Republic since 2018. We offer services in the areas of air, sea, rail and road transport. In 2022, we opened our first warehouse in Brno and a year later we took over Joppa Logistics, which has strong know-how in road transport of full truckloads and smaller shipments. We currently operate through ten branches across the country.
Recently, companies have shown increasing interest in comprehensive logistics support – from international transport to warehousing. Growing geopolitical uncertainty motivates companies to get their goods closer to the end customer, thereby ensuring greater flexibility and security of the supply chain.
In a world marked by growing challenges and the unpredictability of U.S. trade regulations, comprehensive customs support is becoming increasingly crucial. We also support our customers in that aspect. Thanks to our own team and experience with international transport, we help not only on the Czech side, but also in other countries – either directly or through verified partners. We also offer a Customs Control Tower service, providing a one-stop shop for the comprehensive customs processing of goods around the world – both in the country of shipment and in the country of receipt.
The future of logistics? Closer to people and industry
The automotive industry has a strong position in the Czech Republic, but at the same time it faces various challenges, for example due to international trade policy. That is why companies are increasingly interested in finding new markets, including Central Asia. We have a presence there in Kazakhstan, and from there we help European companies develop their business activities in this region.
However, we do not see the main direction in the future only in the automotive sector. On the contrary, we expect greater growth in the areas of e-commerce, light industry or mechanical engineering, where there is a high demand for efficient and flexible logistics. At the same time, we are actively preparing for the growth of the technology industry. This includes the electronics, information technology, telecommunications, automation and robotics sectors.
As Rohlig SUUS Logistics, we want to be a partner for companies that decide to invest or grow in the Czech Republic. We offer them support not only in transport, but also in warehousing, customs services and planning the entire supply chain. Thus, we focus on designing logistics strategies tailored to our customers’ needs as part of our Supply Chain Solutions service. Today, logistics operators increasingly take on a consultative role in driving their customers’ business growth.
